Winches & Pedestals
The yacht features two removable carbon fibre pedestal
systems to drive the primary and mainsheet winches. These winches are
from the 990 three-speed, wide-body racing family in top cleat format
for the primary and self-tailing for the main.

The primary winches also feature a lock system to hold the winch in the faster first and second gear for downwind trimming. The mainsheet winch features an innovative “hybrid” power system that allows the winch to be pedestal driven in race mode, or hydraulically driven in cruise mode at the flick of a switch.
Halyards are led aft to the centre of the cockpit through under-deck leads to a pair of 65.2STR self-tailing winches, one of which will have the option of hydraulic drive for cruising use. A pair of 45.2STR winches control the simple 2:1 traveller.
The double spreader carbon rig features running topmast backstays which are controlled by a further pair of 65.2STR winches. These also have an option of hydraulic drive and the headsail sheets are led aft to these winches in cruise mode. This will allow the yacht to be sailed with only two crew on deck when cruising shorthanded or when on delivery.

Hardware Package
The hardware package makes extensive use of the Harken Black Magic® AirBlocks® for the highly efficient operation at the high loads this boat will generate. The mainsheet traveler runs on a captive roller car, for maximum work loads at minimum weight, with the smooth performance Harken have become known for. Adjustable ball bearing jib cars will be adjusted by a hydraulic ram for finger tip control of the headsail shape

Carbon Fibre Furling
Up front, one of our impressive carbon fibre furling systems will make light work of headsail handling. These beautiful units are an amazing 50% lighter than the equivalent aluminum units, with this weight-saving being most noticeable aloft. Weight saved here minimizes the pitching moment, reduces heeling and increases stability meaning a faster, smoother ride.

Code Zero Furling
For light airs, she will set a large masthead Code Zero, set on a Harken Code Zero furling unit. These light and strong line driver units allow the sail to be furled easily, even under the high luff loads required. The yacht is under final design before construction begins with a launch due for spring 2006.
