Harken UK are delighted to be sponsoring the RS Games, on the 15 - 26th August 2011, at Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy
RS Games, one of the biggest dinghy racing events ever held, has agreed a sponsorship package with Harken UK, leading yacht hardware manufacturer. Over 800 sailors are expected to enter the RS Games, which sees a 12-day programme of National, European and World Championship competitions taking place at the 2012 Olympic sailing venue, one year ahead of the Games.

Harken UK has agreed to provide each and every participant of this momentous event with an entry gift souvenir of a document case. Harken will also continue their annual support of the RS200, RS400, RS700, RS800 and RS Vareo fleets with a selection of prizes from the Harken range, including McLube products.

"We are very excited to be involved with such an unusual and ambitious event as the RS Games. The RS fleet values our functional, hardwearing and low friction hardware and we are looking forward to working with the class association and the organisers on this event to ensure its success," comments Andy Ash-Vie, Managing Director of Harken UK Ltd.

Peter Vincent, Chairman of the RS Class Association which organises the event, says; "We are delighted to have agreed a sponsorship package with Harken UK for the RS Games. The event will bring some of the best international sailors together and the top places in each fleet will be extremely closely contested. To have the support from the leading yacht hardware manufacturer is an excellent endorsement of the calibre of this event."

This is the first time that a joint event has been organised by the RS Class Association on such a large scale. Concurrent championships will be held for nine RS classes; RS100, RS200, RS300, RS400, RS500, RS600, RS700, RS800 and RS Vareo. In addition to a busy on the water schedule, the organisers have also arranged a fun timetable of family-friendly onshore activities and evening social events, promising a truly memorable event for all who take part.

Further information and details of how to enter the RS Games can be found under individual class pages at www.rs-association.com.
