"I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank Harken UK for a wonderful bit of support and service.

Last Thursday, following maintenance to a 64.2 winch, we managed to graunch several important parts including wrecking a ratchet gear. This was particularly upsetting as we are due to leave on an important mini-cruise tomorrow with friends, one of whom, a very keen sailor, has terminal cancer. The first feedback from our local Harken supplier was that there are no 64.2 parts available in the U.K. and that they would take about 2 weeks to arrive from the U.S. I was about to call Neil to enlist his support to get parts air freighted from the U.S but I made a personal call to Harken UK first. CATHERINE PUTT did an absolutely brilliant job. She found that you had an old (obsolete!!) 64.2 in stock, took it apart, extracted the required bits and sent them to me immediately. The winch is now fixed and we are back in business.

So … thanks a lot. You must be proud of you products, organization and STAFF."

"Watch out (for us) at the F18, it will be the one with Harken stickers all over it. The reason being the fantastic help I received from Harken in Lymington. The main sheet car on my boat was I'm told an old design that has since been modified by Harken. This came to light when mine failed at the Essex Dinghy Championships. Although weekend racing was a write-off, the level of help Harken at Lymington gave me more than compensated. A new heavy duty main sheet car was dispatched overnight without any question. Where I thought I would have to argue for some sort of sympathetic warranty, I found sympathy and help ready at hand, and a replacement within 12 hours free of charge. It is rare to find a major manufacturer such as Harken so ready to be of service and keen to maintain their reputation for quality equipment. Particular thanks go to Cathy Ash-Vie for her assistance."
