CARBO RATCHAMATIC®:  DETAILS MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

Ratchamatic Details

THE HARKEN DIFFERENCE

The Ratchamatic® combines a load-sensing ratchet with high-strength, lightweight sideplates for a truly modern sheeting tool. The 75 mm is the largest Ratchamatic® on the market and is perfect on boats like the Mumm 36, Melges 24
and Melges 32. We also offer the only cheek Ratchamatic®. They mount on either port or starboard and are available in 57 mm and
75 mm sizes.

1. AUTOMATIC LOAD-SENSING RATCHET

A spring-loaded cassette in the sheave automatically engages the ratchet pawl as loads increase. When eased, the ratchet automatically disengages allowing unloaded sheets to run out instantly during mark roundings and jibes. Sheave rolls freely in both directions under low low loads like a non ratcheting block. Block shifts between light air and ratchet mode seamlessly.

2. ADJUSTABLE RATCHET ENGAGEMENT

Ratchet adjusts to engage at a higher or lower load using an Allen wrench. Fine-tune ratchet to suit sailor’s strength, sailing style, or block application.

    POWER-GRIP EIGHT-FACETED SHEAVE

Eight-faceted, Hardkote-anodized, Teflon®-impregnated aluminum sheave holds line securely. Holding power of 57 mm is up to 10:1. The 75 mm up to 15:1.

3. LIGHTWEIGHT, STRONG SIDEPLATES

Lightweight Nylon resin sideplates densely packed with long glass fibers replace stainless steel reinforcing straps found on Classic blocks. Fibers align with block contours for strength. Black sideplates, sheave and balls UV protected for increased corrosion resistance.
