Harken® has developed a 2-speed rotary pump with both automatic and manual shift points—a first in the industry. Thanks to patent-pending bearing technology, it delivers a greater volume of oil faster, more efficiently, and with a higher shift point than other pumps. Like standard pumps, the user sets the shift pressure based on the maximum power output of the grinders onboard. When this pressure is reached, the pump automatically shifts from 1st to 2nd gear. If fewer crew are grinding, they may not generate enough power to reach the automatic shift point. In this case, simply reversing the pedestal handles allows the crew to shift gears manually.
Straight splined output shafts attach pumps to bevel boxes or pedestals and can mount remotely. The shaft for Harken’s MX pedestal attaches directly to the pedestal for a tight connection. Pumps are built of 6061 T6 hardcoat-anodized aluminum.
