Pewaukee, WI—Harken Yacht Equipment announces that all new US Watercraft-built M30s (formerly the Mumm 30) will come standard with a Harken deck gear package. The M30 class Management Group has issued the following rule interpretations:

48. Is it permissible to replace broken or worn-out deck hardware on Carroll Marine, Ovington, McDell, and DK boats with the Harken hardware supplied on new US Watercraft M30s? Yes. All hardware replaced with Harken equipment shall be part #s supplied by the builder as specified on US Watercraft Drawing #20129 and shall not be relocated from original builder location as specified on Carroll Marine Drawing #338-101A and as recorded on each boat’s MCCB.
49. Is it permissible to use Harken Winch Mounting Rings to mount Harken winches for easier maintenance? Yes. The mounting rings do not increase the performance, decrease the weight, or decrease the strength of the winches.

Current M30 owners are now allowed to use approved Harken deck gear and winches on their boats, regardless of the builder.
