Pewaukee, WI—Harken’s new custom genoa lead cars encompass a variety of styles, functions and load ranges. Car bodies are made with titanium, 316 stainless steel or 6061-T6 aluminum and fit a range of track, making it easy to find the right car for your boat. Sheave carriers are corrosion-resistant 2205-duplex stainless steel, or strong lightweight aluminum.
"Harken’s custom engineers will work with the client on an individual basis to meet load, style and material requirements," said Project Leader John Johansen. "For recent megayacht projects, the Harken design team has created several new genoa car designs, incorporating sculpted machined pullers in the car bodies and soft attachment sheave carriers for these performance-minded customers. Looking to the future, we continue to increase the load range of our genoa cars and explore new material options to suit the demands of this growing market."
ULC bearing systems use low-friction composite bushing bearings. Performance bearing systems use roller bearings for maximum efficiency where frequent adjustments are required. Both ULC and roller bearings systems feature snap-fit Torlon® ball bearings to carry thrust loads.
Cars come with pinstops in the car body or with puller tangs. Block-to-car attachments can be soft or fixed. T-track cars and cars with slider rods are available for extremely high loads.
