December 2006-Pewaukee, Wisconsin USA—Harken announced today the appointment
of Bill Goggins as Commercial Manager of Harken Yacht Equipment. In his new position, Goggins will coordinate Harken's newly-formed global OEM, Aftermarket, Grand-Prix and Custom sales divisions. He will focus on opening lines of communication and developing efficient operating procedures among the four groups. This new role includes his present responsibilities of managing Harken's international marketing team. With this change, Tim Kent has been made responsible for the US Sales team. Kent's title is the US Sales Manager.
Goggins has a master's degree in marketing communications and a bachelors degree in advertising and public relations from Marquette University.
"Bill has a proven record in building international teams," said Vice President Olaf Harken. "Clarity of purpose and communication are always challenges in a growing international business. Bill's organizational skills, can-do attitude, and respect for different opinions make him a natural for this global management position."
Prior to joining Harken eight years ago, Goggins was an account executive at BVK/McDonald, a Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based advertising agency, where he worked on a variety of outdoor-related accounts.
Goggins is on the Board of Directors of Sail America and is vice president of the industry association's marketing committee. An active sailboat racer, Goggins competes in all types of boats from dinghies, to one-design and performance keelboats.
