B1135 and 1145 Wide-Body Aluminum Winches |
Wide-Body Aluminum Winches Lead the Market in Maximum Working Load to Weight Ratio.
Pewaukee, WI—Harken introduces the B1135 and B1145 winches. These wide-body aluminum winches have been developed from the B1130 winch and are used as primaries on megayachts of 100+ ft (30+ m), and on Grand Prix racing boats. The wide- body drum diameter on both of these winches holds sheets securely while under high loads and also promotes high-speed line retrieval when sheeting.
The Harken B1135 and B1145 come standard with three speeds. The B1135 is deal for trimming spinnakers, can be ordered in a four-speed version or retrofitted using Harken’s Four-Speed Kit. An optional independent backwind motor on the B1145 makes this winch ideal for high-load applications such as mainsheets, halyards, and backstays.
“We have taken our winch line a step further and created winches to meet our customer’s needs,” comments Custom Sales Manager Corinne Rich. “The B1135, with optional fourth speed allows easy spinnaker sheeting, while the backwind motor on the B1145 lets trimmers ease high loads off the drum before completely releasing the sheet.”
The B1135 and B1145 both operate with either a hydraulic or an electric motor, (special motors can be supplied upon request); and can be powered with pedestals or a hybrid combination.
Both winches come with the option of being manufactured with a base sheave—useful for feeding a line onto another winch and on boats with limited winches. This sheave is available in free-spinning or ratcheting versions.
The B1135 and B1145 winches feature strong 17-4PH stainless steel gears and lightweight alloy housing. PEEK® (poly- ether-ether ketone) drum roller bearings provide durability, and resist moisture absorption and swelling in an environment with very close tolerances.
