12 July 2011—Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China – Harken Yacht Equipment announced today that its newest distributor is open to service the Chinese marine market. Led by Alan Lan of Sunrise Marineware Ltd, the new team will work closely with Harken to expand its presence in China's fast-growing sailboat industry.

About China and Harken's Focus
Along with the growth of production boat yards, interest and participation in sailing is on the rise, offering legitimate aftermarket opportunities for Harken. An office in China is critical if Harken is to provide the high levels of service that are synonymous with the Harken brand worldwide. Like other distributors within the Harken operation, Sunrise Marineware will be a trade-only business established to service the OEM customer base and the aftermarket.

About Alan Lan
Before founding Sunrise Marineware, Lan served as the China sales manager for a UK-based marine company. He has a degree in Marketing from the University of NSW, Australia, and a degree in Software Development from the Information Technology Institution, NSW Australia. His racing experience includes competing in China Cup International Regattas with a goal to promoting big boat sailing in China.
