Rounds Out New Traveler Range
Harken’s award winning design for a Captive Ball Bearing Traveler car has been expanded into a new size range of compact lightweight travelers built to handle high loads on boats from 32 to 50 ft (9.5 to 15 m), and up to 70 ft (21 m) with coupled cars. The Big Boat “CB” Traveler Line complements Harken’s popular Small Boat and Midrange CB Travelers introduced over the past few Years.
” We’ve taken full advantage of CNC machining capabilities to produce a robust, low friction, one-piece aluminum traveler car that has the added convenience of captive bearings,” said Harken engineer, Jon Malcolm.
Machined aluminum Hardkote-anodized races allow Torlon® bearings to transition smoothly from the active to return race for easy trimming and easing. Stainless steel wire guides keep balls captive when the car is off the track, providing an innovative way to clean and service the cars without losing ball bearings.
Shackle/toggle cars serve as a stand-up for mainsheet blocks, and have low pivot points to control off center, non vertical loads. Harken’s 40 and 57 mm Carbo Blocks attach directly to the toggle swivel post for control lines.
