Harken is a leader in the design, manufacturing and marketing of sailboat hardware and winches for over 40 years. We have a formalized distribution network in 45 countries.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a business professional with management skills. The individual must be an articulate, people-oriented professional who possesses a high energy level, proven sales and business accomplishments. Provide leadership and coordination in accordance with Harken policies. Develop the organization and manage the growth of the team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement sales and marketing plans.
- Prepare strategy and budget in support of achieving projected revenues and profits.
- Plan and manage subsidiary activities according to defined economic and technical
strategies.
- Review operational records and determine profitability.
- Analyze local market environment in order to increase market penetration and turnover.
- Prepare written presentations, reports, and price quotations. Manage contract negotiations.
- Work closely with Global Sales Manager and Global CEO to implement a well-defined
product positioning strategy for the Swedish market. Propose modification and/or adaptation of products and services for Sweden.
- Manage the sales team for Sweden.
- Represent Harken in an honest and ethical manner as its legal representative in Sweden.
- Recruit, train, coach, supervise and evaluate subsidiary staff.
THE POSITION REQUIRES:
- A minimum of 5 years experience in sales management.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution.
- Knowledge of contracting and negotiating.
- Strong technical background, with mechanical skills, is critical.
- Sailing experience is mandatory.
- Marine market knowledge and industry background will be a plus.
- Knowledge of developing sales quota goals and revenue expectations.
- Ability to communicate concepts clearly and credibly to multiple audiences including senior management. Position requires professional written and verbal communication.
- Ability to facilitate teamwork; empower and motivate people.
- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes market strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
- Native language—Swedish. Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory.
- Ability to think strategically and act independently.

TITLE: IT Manager

Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage computing and information technology strategic plans, policies, programs, and schedules for business and finance data processing, computer services, network communications, and management information services to accomplish corporate goals and objectives.
- Assists in the planning and implementation of additions, deletions and major modifications to the supporting infrastructure of the company.
- Plans, manages and develops upgrades to telephone system.
- Coordinates the resolution of all corporate IT help desk activities.
- Direct the information and data integrity of the company and its business units.
- Develop strategic plans and implement the objectives of the information technology needs of the company to ensure the computer capabilities are responsive to the needs of the company's growth and objectives.
- Advise senior management on strategic systems conversions and integrations in support of business goals and objectives.

Position Requirements
- Outstanding knowledge and deep experience in implementation of Microsoft AX is mandatory.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiation and change management. Knowledge of information technology computer systems and software, and the ability to manage the entire spectrum of information technology operations.
- Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timefames and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
- Good training skills.
- 5 years experience in senior IT management role or similar.
- Highly advanced analytical abilities with operational vision.
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration or other related field.
- Direct the development, implementation, and administration of all IT.
- Perform Project management of IT initiatives.
- Oversee hiring, staffing, training, disciplining, and performance appraisals.
- Preparation and management of operating and capital budgets.
- Oversee new system facilitation, current system enhancements.
- Manage internal/external application upgrades.

- Negotiate contracts with manufacturers for all software, hardware, and consulting services.

TITLE: Engineer

Key Responsibilities
- Develop innovative mechanical solutions at the component/assembly level of design and detail these with CAD models and drawings using Solidworks.
- Work directly with manufacturing engineering, manufacturing and assembly to develop concepts and final designs.
- Develop mechanical designs and specifications, concepts, and components that satisfy the customer's requirements.
- Support process change and continual improvement activities to drive teamwork and project success.
- Provide engineering support to Manufacturing, Testing, and Customer Service.
Required Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 3-5 years experience in the analysis and design of structural components using classical strength of materials methods.
- Proficient and comfortable with all phases of the product development, including conceptualization, design, verification, implementation, and manufacturing.
- Strong mechanical technical background and theoretical knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.
- Real world experience with designing to weight and strength requirements.
- Proven experience working independently as well as in a team environment.
- Creative Problem Solving Skills with a history of conceiving multiple concepts and solutions for the same requirements.
- Sailing background and passion for sailing a plus.

Harken, Inc. is seeking a Hydraulic Systems Engineer to assist in the definition, design and development of circuits for electrohydraulic systems in sailing yachts. This position requires a talented, energetic individual with a strong work ethic and solid communication skills.
