Adding to its auto shifting 2-speed, 3-speed, and rotary pumps, Harken has released a new 1-Speed Double-Acting Pump to complete its range of hydraulic pumps. It delivers oil when the handle is either pushed or pulled so that no movement is wasted. The 1-Speed Pump is compatible with all control panels including the newly released Compact Control Panel.
"We tackled the hardest problems first to see where we could make the biggest improvements over the 10- and 20-year-old systems that were on the market," says Hydraulics Manager Robbie Young. "Because of that up-front R & D investment, even our most basic systems benefit from major weight reductions and increased efficiency."
Harken 1-Speed and 2-Speed Pumps are ideal for small to midsize hydraulic systems. Bolt holes in the hardcoat-anodized 6061-T6 aluminum pump housing are threaded with stainless steel inserts to prevent corrosion around the stainless bolts. An optional adhered isolation plate improves load distribution even more by transferring torque directly to the mounting surface rather than the bolt holes. The piston shafts and rocker arms are machined from 17-4 PH stainless steel. Pumps have 7-degree splined shafts to ensure a tight fit and to allow the handle to be mounted at the sailor's preferred angle. Mounting patterns for all pumps are identical, making it easy to upgrade to 2- and 3-speed pumps.
Compact Control Panel
The Compact Control Panel Kit provides sailors with simple single-speed, single-function remote cylinder operation. A factory-set 5000 psi pressure relief prevents crew from overtensioning the system The panel's small footprint provides a variety of mounting options, while its wide bolt pattern minimizes hull stress. Kits come with a 1-Speed Double-Acting Pump, valve manifold, 2-liter tank, handle, filter, and hose. Panels are available in black hardcoat-anodized 6061-T6 aluminum.
