Loïck is the personification of cool. He’s one of the most accomplished offshore sailors in the world, an icon, and current holder of the Jules Verne record. He’s also one of those people who can sit down and talk with anyone and simply be real. Loïck’s a father, he’s the helmsman for the Artemis Team’s America’s Cup campaign. He can talk with crowds and maintain his humility, and walk with kings and not lose his common touch. He can sit amid the rubble of a broken Open 60 in a storm in the Atlantic Ocean and make it an opportunity to reflect on Mother Nature, while most of us would be deeply in panic mode. He has the sixth sense we all dream about.
I’m not following the standard format of short soundbites, but grab a cup of coffee and check out part one of seven long conversations I had with Loïck on behalf of Seahorse Magazine for an interview that printed a few months ago. It’s a video worth watching. It’s neat to learn how someone so cool thinks…enjoy.
