Let me share a little personal information about myself. My wife Susan and are are lucky to be parents of three children, all of whom are under the age of five. For those of you who are parents can attest, building a family takes sacrifice and commitment you might not have bargained for. Susan and I feel blessed to have a wonderful family, and I can promise you that you'll read more about them in future blogs as I carefully introduce them to things that are important to me—sailing included.

On a related note, I'd like to introduce you to another family that have three children under the age of five. James Burwick called me a couple of years ago to explain that he and his wife Somira were planning a circumnavigation on an Open 40. He explained that he had kids about the same age as mine. Little ones!
We immediately hit it off. Jame and the family have been able to visit our Harken team members in La Rochelle (Harken France), Cape Town (Harken South Africa), Melbourne (Harken Australia) and now Auckland (Harken New Zealand). With those introductions, you can guess his routing.
This family is doing something that is nothing short of amazing. His kids will have quite the unique early-childhood education. Check out the link to learn more about James and his remarkable family.
