I want to send a shout out to Oracle Racing's Jimmy Spithill who was generous enough to share his time and talent to run a match racing clinic for a group of youth sailors competing in the 20th anniversary edition of the Harken Youth Match Racing Championships. For a guy who has more going on than most in the sailing world, it's truly remarkable to enjoy his charity and willingness to give back.
It's very rare to find a community like the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (Pittwater, Australia is north of Sydney) that has done so much for the youth. If you ask Jimmy Spithill where he, his sister and brother cut their sailing and match racing teeth, it's out of this club. We're very grateful to see multiple generations of sailors giving back to support the youth and to have them experience the joy of sailing.
You're only as good as the wake you leave behind you. Thanks Jimmy for helping invest in the next rock stars of sailing.
