Harken's New Product Line-up
Harken is proud to present the new products for 2012. Whether you race or cruise in megayachts or dinghies, you are sure to find products that interest you. Check out the T18™, this tiny soft-attach has a working load of 125 kg (275 lb), weighs only 7.2 g (0.25 oz), and is our lightest block ever. Add to that, CB Adjustable Genoa Leads, Performa™ winches, Chrome Rewind™, Revolving Control Switches, GP2 and GP3 Battcar systems, wooden blocks, and Smart Valves, programmable valve controllers integrated into our Hydraulic winches. We also invite you to join Harken Facebook where you can share your stories and ideas with other Harken fans who love sailing. Check back often for new product posts.
With the new T18™ block's 125 kg (275 lb) working load and 7.2 g (0.25 oz) weight, this tiny block is our lightest soft-attach and the perfect complement to Harken's popular T2™ line. It installs anywhere and articulates for perfect lead angles. A stainless grooved race and stainless balls vastly increase working load, while the non-load-bearing components are made of lightweight and impact-resistant composites.
Adopting the high-efficiency of Radial® winches, new Performa™ PT (plain top), ST (self-tailing), and Quattro winches complement Harken's carbon racing line with a lower-cost alternative in smaller sizes. The Performa features a sandblasted drum optimized for halyard and sheeting applications using smaller high-tech line.
Revolving Control Switches bring a new twist to the safe operation of electrically powered yachts systems such as winches, furlers, and windlasses. Their unique design features a cover that rotates to expose the operational buttons or hide them for fail-safe protection against accidental activation.
Sustainable fabrics are made with renewable bamboo fibers and odor-fighting carbon. 4-way stretch, quick-dry materials move with your body and wick away moisture to regulate body temperature, keeping you dry and comfortable. Reinforced stretch panels on back and on the knees.
Harken modular CB genoa leads are now offered with high-performance ball bearing and roller bearing sheaves for radial loads, with side-load ball bearings to handle thrust loads for easy trimming and fore/aft adjustment.

Harken's Rewind™ Radial®, the first electric winch to both ease and trim, is now available in mirror-polished chrome or lightweight black aluminum to match boat aesthetics and sailing style.
Harken worked closely with Grand Prix yacht designers to adapt its famous Battcar mainsail management system for VO70s and the largest competitive multihulls ever built. These elite teams chose Battcars for their simplicity, reliability, and lightweight design.
The flexible feeder mainsail track/luff groove system takes the pain out of hoisting and furling your in-boom mainsail. Floating feeder, flanged track, and smooth-running cars—all designed to make a hard job easy.
The patented Smart Valve detects the drum speed of a hydraulic winch from a signal sent by the Harken Speed Sensor inside the winch. The Smart Valve then automatically adjusts the hydraulic pressure for optimal line speed and pull force in each gear.
Varnished elm sidplates combine with Harken performance bearings for a high-tech block with a classic look. Bronze load-bearing strops underneath the sideplates support the sheave assembly. The bronze eye at the head of the block can be spliced on or mechanically attached to a padeye.
Harken's new MKIV hydraulic furler is smaller, more compact and up to 45% lighter weight than before. Developed for cruisers and performance racers from 18 to 34 m (60 to 110 ft), this powerful furler's streamlined silhouette blends seamlessly with your boat's profile.
The new Harken Captive Reel Winch line has expanded to include models with Maximum Working Loads of 1.5, 3, 6, 9, 12, and 16 tons. Designed to control halyards and sheets on boats 19 m (60 ft) and up, intensive development and rigorous testing programs at Harken Italy have created a powerful captive winch that is 10 to 20% smaller in size than similarly configured winches.
Harken designed the Access Rail to provide megayacht crews with a safe, secure system that provides freedom of movement and the ability to lock into one position while working outboard along the hull. It's CE certification is unique in the marine market.
Harken's Carbo T2™ is the first block with no fasteners, rivets or other metal parts to add weight. Its composite structure, applied industrial design, and new branding gives this patent-pending block a hot new look that appeals to racing sailors both young, and young at heart.
Carbo fiddle blocks are an excellent choice when building 3:1 and 4:1 purchases for mainsheets and vangs. Fiddles come in 40 mm, 57 mm, and 75 mm sizes. Carbo Fiddle Ratchets allow sailors to hand-hold loaded lines. 57 and 75 mm provide 10:1 to 15:1 holding power respectively. Easy-to-operate on/off switches on both sides of the block.
Harken 27 mm Midrange, 32 mm Big Boat CB travelers and Genoa leads with multipart purchases take on a modular design, giving sailors the flexibility to choose the purchase they need for effective sail trim control. If you want the power of additional purchase, Harken offers kits to make that upgrade.
Harken is building on the success of its Small Boat Underdeck Furler with two new systems for sportboats and performance cruisers. These furlers are up to 50% lighter weight than similar systems currently available.
Harken's electric UniPower Radial® winch is the answer for sailors that want more headroom belowdeck. The motor of this one-of-a-kind winch is partially embedded inside the drum so only 4-1/8 in (105 mm) projects under the cabintop—an important feature for smaller boats where space below is limited. The compact UniPower is available in mirror-finished chrome or lightweight aluminum to match boat style. 12 and 24 volt.
75 mm stainless steel blocks have been added to Harken's Megayacht line of stainless hardware. Blocks come in single, single with becket, Stand-up, Teardrop and single footblock configurations. Also new are 150 mm Stand-up Megayacht blocks with U-bolt base in stainless steel and aluminum.
The Harken halyard tensioner locks halyards at full hoist and frees the halyard winch for other functions. Offered in 32 mm single pin and 40 mm single and double-pin versions with self-locking T-Track.
The innovative Trysail Switch integrates with the Switch T-Track Battcar System by sharing a single track to reduce weight aloft. Both trysail switch and mainsail systems are available in 26, 32, and 50 mm sizes. Double storage track in 26 mm.
Harken introduces a full line of hydraulic cylinders including double-pull and locking cylinders, a full range of vang cylinders, and blocks and eye fittings. Components were designed to reduce cylinder weight and size, and to increase structural strength.
Harken MVP-1 Single Control and MVP-4 Multi-Control Hydraulic Panels power backstays, boom vangs, and outhauls from a control panel remotely mounted in the cockpit. MVP Control Panels include a 2-speed pump, handles, easy-to-read gauge, integrated pressure relief and release valves, and a 4-liter reservoir. Control panels mount using Harken O-ring gasket seals for a waterproof installation.
The Touch Trim joins Harken's family of powered control systems for cruisers in its quest to provide sailors with "easy sailing" solutions. Now the mainsheet is no longer in the cockpit, but is self-contained in the boom, freeing the skipper to trim and ease the main by electric push button from anywhere in the boat.
