Southeast Sales Representative

TITLE: Southeast Sales Representative
REPORTS TO: US Sales Manager
BASED AT: Harken, Inc., Harken Southeast
STATUS: Exempt, Full-Time

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Achieve sales objectives for all customer channels and product categories in compliance with defined commercial policies and strategies
  • Accountable for developing and defining territory business plans for the market, customer and network agents, in partnership with Harken Sales leadership
  • Responsible for all OEM boat dimensioning (SPECs) and defining BOMs quoted for assigned accounts
  • Responsible for all assigned aftermarket customers
  • Provide competitive intelligence on the markets in assigned territory
  • Ensure customers receive all necessary consultancy and technical assistance
  • Collaborate on the implementation of commercial sales activities for all channels
  • Develop and define Sales department plans and budget in conjunction with US Sales Manager
  • Accountable for territory sales forecast and budget
  • Collaborate with Customer Service and Marketing in order to increase customer satisfaction, market share and profitability
  • Provide updates and reports to US Sales Manager
  • Attend a minimum of two national corporate sales events per year, including but not limited to, regattas, boat shows and trade shows
  • Grow Harken business in existing sales channels and look for additional sales opportunities

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years retail or wholesale sales experience
  • Excellent problem solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines and goals despite unexpected setbacks, obstacles or time constraints
  • Team player able to interact in a positive, constructive manner with staff members on all levels within the company
  • Working knowledge of sailboats, sailing hardware and systems
  • Valid driver's license without restrictions limiting operation in all 50 United States
  • Ability to use standard office equipment
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs, i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Publisher
  • Ability to add, sub-tract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, feel or handle objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands or arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and the ability to focus
